Bicycling duo halfway home

ALOR STAR: Two best buddies are getting closer to completing their 20,300km bicycle tour of Peninsular Malaysia.

Muhd Syafiq Abdul Ghani and Freddie Aziz Jasbindar, both 26, are expected to complete the one-month journey, which started in Port Dickson on Oct 16, in about a week.

Freddie, who is from Ipoh, said they hoped to publish a book on their experience upon completion of the tour.

“We will compile our experiences on the journey and will publish a book next year.

“”Nothing is impossible. We hope we can finish this tour as we wish to share our experience,”” he said, when the pair stopped at Masjid Zahir, here, recently.

They had arrived from Padang Besar, Perlis, and were making a short stop in Alor Star before resuming their journey to Butterworth.

Syafiq said they were also testing their web tracking application called Kakipedal’.

“We are making sure that the app is working fine before we release it. The application is useful for people who loves cycling or walking,”” said Syafiq, who hails from Port Dickson.

The duo are already halfway through their journey. They are headed for Butterworth in Penang, Taiping, Bota and Teluk Intan in Perak, Kuala Selangor and Banting in Selangor and will arrive in Port Dickson in a week to complete their expedition. By Zahratulhayat Mat Arif
