Visitors will have a chance to meet renowned local authors such as Uztaz Haji Zahazan (Kenali Rasul Kita Muhammad), Melur Jelita (The Unsung Hero), Umie Nadzimah (Kerana Terpaksa Aku Relakan), Acik Lana (Akadku Yang Terakhir).

Chef Hanieliza, who penned 1 Hari 1 Resepi and 101 Resipi Menggunakan Pemanggang Ajaib, will hold a cooking demonstration.

For fans of local singers Didi Astillah and Asmidar, mark your calendars as there is also an autograph session on the schedule.

Popular senior manager (special projects) Helen Goh said visitors have a chance to get their favourite books at discounts of up to 70 per cent during the event.

“There are different types of genres to suit the needs of the different groups of readers,” she said.

The exhibition hall boasts 3345.5 sqm of exhibition area. It also features sales of compact discs, stationery and collectibles.

A Travel the World colouring contest will also be held for children aged from five to eight and those aged nine to 12. A total of RM1,200 in prizes are also up for grabs.

Visitors stand a chance to win new books during the Kuiz Jawab & Menang Popular which will be held from 6pm to 6.15pm daily. English books are also marked down starting at RM5.

A RM25 voucher will be given for a minimum purchase of RM120.

Popular card members will enjoy 25 per cent discount on selected items.

New applications and renewal of Popular card memberships would be entitled to a free gift. The carnival ends on Sunday.
