PADANG BESAR: A total of 628 victims were relocated to five relief centres here after their villages were hit by flood following several hours continuous rain since last evening.
Reports from various agencies including the National Security Council showed that the relocation process of all the 174 families to the centres took place from 1am to 6am today.
It was reported that 367 victims were placed at SK Batu Bertangkup,22 were relocated to Padang Melaka Hall, 72 at SK Bukit Keteri, 113 at Banggol Sena Hall while the remaining 54 were temporarily placed at Felda Chuping Homestay.
It was learnt that the nearby river overflowed causing the affected villages to be inundated with flood water up to 2 metres deep.
