KUALA TERENGGANU: Police are on the hunt for a suspect who is believed to have abused his wife repeatedly.
It is learnt that the man ill-treats his wife due to jealousy.
Abusive incidents takes place each time the wife goes out for work.
The latest incident saw the 37-year old unemployed man attacking his spouse on Monday at their home in Kampung Beladau Kepong.
The 10.30pm incident saw the husband attacking his wife without provocation, while she was cleaning a bathroom at their home.
It is belived that the wife managed to escape the suspect several minutes later.
She managed to contact her relative but the suspect followed her and seized her handphone.
“ The suspect hit and punched her several times while they were in the the living room, which left bruises on her body, face and forehead, “ said a witness.
Fearing for her safety, the witness said the 35-year-old wife lodged a report at the Kuala Terengganu police station around midnight the same day.
Meanwhile, State Criminal Investigation Department Assistant Commissioner Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Hamzah who confirmed the report , said the case was being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing hurt and Section 18 of the Domestic Violence Act 2010.
