ING to cut 1,700 jobs over 3 years

AMSTERDAM: ING Groep NV plans to cut 1,700 jobs as it seeks to simplify and automate systems and processes. A pretax redundancy provision of €320 million (RM1.33 billion) will be booked in the fourth quarter, the Amsterdam-based lender said in a statement yesterday. ING, which has 53,000 staff, said the cuts will occur over the next three years and mainly at the bank’s headquarters, in back-offices, call centres and technology departments. Bloomberg
