FBM KLCI easier at mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR: The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was easier at mid-morning today with sentiment dampened by selling in blue chips and heavyweight counters. At 11.06 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 10.04 points easier at 1,832.13.

On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index fell 73.62 points to 12,606.23, the FBMT100 Index lost 69.87 points to 12,289.97, the FBM 70 trimmed 87.23 points to 13,600.69, the FBM Emas Syariah Index contracted 91.20 points to 13,138.63 and the FBM Ace went down 124.86 points to 6,363.27.

On a sectoral basis, the Finance Index rose decreased 51.98 points to 16,341.22, the Industrial Index slipped 0.74 points to 3,334.99 and the Plantation Index slid 1.08 points to 8,331.70.

Market breadth was negative with decliners leading advancers 481 to 168, while 228 counters were unchanged, 826 untraded and 26 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 770.94 million shares worth RM422.68 million.

Of the heavyweights, Maybank eased 12 sen to RM9.55, SapuraKencana inched down 14 sen to RM3.09, while both Axiata and Maxis were five sen lower at RM7.14 and RM7, respectively.

Among actives, Nova fell half a sen to 20 sen, Jag inched down 1.5 sen to 18.5 sen.But Daya Materials rose half a sen to 22 sen. – Bernama
