HCM CITY: More than 700 businesses have registered to take part in Vietnam’s Online Shopping Day set on Dec 5 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam News Agency (NA) reported.
The event’s objective is to encourage businesses and consumers to shop online to expand the country’s e-commerce market. Event organisers Department of E-Commerce and Information Technology and the Vietnam E-Commerce Association (VECOM) said that up to 44 percent of some 35 million internet users in Vietnam have not experienced online shopping. “The programme will provide opportunity for the e-business community and consumers given most businesses have yet to devise effective marketing strategies,” said the organisers.
The fields of express service, banking, transport and telecommunication are expected to take advantage of cooperation opportunities.
Products such as electronics, cosmetics and fashion items will receive discounts on Online Shopping Day. – Bernama
