KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened lower against the USdollar this morning as demand shifted to the greenback, a dealer said.
At 9.09am, the domestic currency was quoted at 3.3640/3670 versus 3.3450/3480 at 5pm on Thursday.
However, the ringgit was traded lower against other major currencies.
It eased against the Singapore dollar to 2.5817/5860 from 2.5764/5805 onThursday and increased against the yen to 2.8451/8478 from 2.8468/8506 yesterday.
The local currency weakened against the British pound to 5.2848/2919 from 5.2771/2835 previously and slid against the euro to 4.1882/1926 from 4.1766/1806 on Thursday.-- Bernama
