PLUS holds 35 community programmes nationwide

KUALA LUMPUR: PLUS Malaysia Berhad (Plus) held 35 community programmes simultaneously at different locations across the country in conjunction with Plus Community Day yesterday.

Plus managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Noorizah Abd Hamid said the annual programme was organised as part of the company’s initiative to give back to the people as well as contribute to the wellbeing of the surrounding communities.

“The program, which saw the participation of 1,500 staff was also aimed at encouraging teamwork and the spirit of volunteerism among the staff.

“Every year, we dedicate a special day for Plus and its staff to organise and participate in community service to help the needy and various communities across the country.

“Among the community projects organised were repair works of surau, hostel and other facilities at Madrasah Darul Mujahidin in Teluk Panglima Garang, Klang. “Also, upgrading and repairing an orphanage in Gombak Permai, Batu Caves, cleaning the beach at Port Dickson as well as releasing turtle hatchlings to the sea at the Masjid Tanah Turtle Conservation Centre,” she said in a statement yesterday.
