Terengganu Crisis: Police ready to face eventuality

KUALA TERENGGANU: State police chief Datuk Jamshah Mustapa says the force are ready to face any eventuality due to the latest political crisis in Terengganu.

However, he said the situation in the state was still under control and there was no untoward incident reported.

"The people can still carry out their daily activities as usual but the police are always prepared to face any possibility," he said.

The latest crisis unveils when former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, who is the state Umno liaison committee chairman and Kijal assemblyman, and two others - Ghazali Taib (Ajil) and Roslee Daud (Bukit Besi) - left Umno and become independents.

They made the decision several hours after Seberang Takir assemblyman Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman was sworn in as the new menteri besar yesterday.
