Crew manage to swim to nearby island after boat capsizes

KUCHING: The three missing Sarawak Rivers Board crew managed to swim to Pulau Batu Mandi after their boat capsized earlier today.

Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency spokesperson said all three of the missing crew is safe, but rescue boats will take some time to reach them due to choppy waters.

"We can see them lighting up fire at the beach and our boats are approaching close to them," said the spokesperson.

A four men Sarawak Rivers Board crew went overboard near Pulau Lakei near the northern tip of Bako National Park at 4pm.

One was rescued by fisherman while the three others managed to swim to safety.
