Glorious food this holiday season

JOHOR BARU: IN conjunction with the Christmas and New year celebrations, Thistle Johor Baru is offering promotions to make the festive season more joyous at its food and beverage outlets.

At the Carvery to Go Counter, classics such as roast tom turkey (3kg to 4kg per bird), is served with condiments such as cranberry sauce, giblet sauce, chestnut stuffing, buttered vegetables and roast baby potatoes and is priced at RM400 nett. Other highlights include lamb and beef ribs.

The roast leg of lamb (3kg per leg), accompanied by rosemary sauce, black pepper sauce, buttered vegetables and roast baby potatoes, is priced at RM325 nett. The roasted prime beef ribs (minimum order of 2kg), served with mushroom sauce, black pepper sauce, mustard, horseradish, buttered vegetables and roast baby potatoes, is priced at RM160 nett per kilogramme.

These dishes are available throughout this month, however, orders must be placed 48 hours in advance.

The Oasis Restaurant is offering a set lunch promotion, where guests may choose from a selection of three main courses such as pan seared barramundi and salmon, pan fried T-bone steak or roast turkey with all the trimmings. For dessert, there is chocolate cheesecake.

The Christmas Eve set lunch will be served from noon to 2.30pm and is priced at RM105 nett per person.

For Christmas Eve dinner, Oasis is offering a five-course set dinner where guests can choose from a selection of three main courses such as turkey paupiette, grilled salmon fillet or Wagyu beef fillet with pumpkin risotto. Traditional Christmas pudding and creme brulee is served for dessert.

Dinner will be served from 6.30pm to 11.00pm and is priced at RM155 nett per person.

  For those who prefer variety for Christmas Eve dinner, they can dine at Fresh Restaurant, which serves a buffet dinner. The buffet selection includes roasted turkey with chestnut stuffing, roasted New Zealand prime beef ribs and salt baked red snapper. Dinner is served from 6.30pm to 10.30pm and is priced at RM110 nett per person.

On Christmas Day, guests can enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch at Fresh, which offers salads, appetisers, nasi lemak, satay, classic lasagna, chicken picatta, oven toasted prawns and braised BBQ beef ribs.

The buffet lunch will be served from noon to 3pm and is priced at RM88 nett per person.

  The Glass Restaurant is offering a Christmas Day buffet dinner with a spread of dishes such as roast turkey, roast beef with garlic potato salad, spiced pumpkin soup and herbed salmon. Buffet dinner will be served from 6.30pm to 10.30pm and is priced at RM98 nett per person.

For New Year’s Eve, Oasis is offering a scrumptious BBQ buffet dinner, where guests can indulge in a special menu comprising sliced beef, grilled cod steak with dill caper lemon sauce, sauteed broccoli with honey glaze and salmon flakes, breaded chicken and deep fried crabs. The dessert spread includes apple beignets and blueberry cream caramel.

The Strollers will be performing all night l at the poolside and guests stand to win attractive lucky draw prizes.

  The New Year’s Eve BBQ buffet dinner at Oasis will be served from 7pm to 1am and is priced at RM135 nett per person.

  Guests can also opt to dine in style with a fabulous Western set dinner at Glass Restaurant. For the main course, they have a choice of pan seared beef tenderloin, roast rack of lamb or oven baked chicken supreme.

  The Western set dinner is available from 6.30pm to 10.30pm and is priced at RM135 nett per person.

Children aged 6 to 12 will get a 50 per cent discount for all buffet and set meal promotions.

 The hotel can cater for a large number of guests for Christmas and New Year parties at its Orchid Ballroom, for office parties.
