Festive treats at Cafe Para Para

JOHOR BARU: TREAT yourself to a gastronomical journey at the Grand Paragon Hotel on Christmas Eve and New Year Eve.

The kitchen team of Cafe Para Para will prepare over 100 dishes for those who want to spend the evening with their loved ones over a great meal.

Begin your culinary journey with a wide assortment of appetisers such as crispy bacon and artichokes, assorted sushi, freshly-sliced sashimi moriawase, pastrami beef, salami, grilled potatoes mushrooms with truffle and olive dressing.

For seafood lovers, do try the poached fresh prawns, New Zealand mussel with lemon wedges and fresh oyster with cocktail sauce and lobster salad.

The cheese platter has a good selection of camembert, edam, brie and canzona, which are served with dried fruits and grapes.

At the pasta corner, one may choose from spaghetti, fettucini and penne served with a selection of sauces such as chicken bolognaise, peston and creamy seafood carbonara.

The chefs will also serve roast turkey with chestnut stuffing, braised winter brussel sprout with beef slice and roasted chestnut and steak Wellington with mushroom sauce.

At the barbeque counter, diners can treat themselves to chicken drumstick yakitori, mini lamb chop, sausages, corn on cob, pan-fried prawn with garlic, among others.

For the main course, the dishes prepared are tempura soft-shell crab, glazed salmon sauteed leek in teriyaki sauce, deep-fried Hong Kong pigeon, roasted roulade of lamb with shallot compote, gratin of seafood and scallop shell, wok- fried ramen with scallop and Spanish paella with seafood.

Dessert lovers must try the assorted classic Christmas cookies, fruit cakes, fruit tarts and mincemeat tarts, profiteroles tower, French pasties and others.

Both the Christmas Eve and New Year Eve buffet dinner are priced at RM90++ for adults and RM54++ for children.

High-tea and buffet dinner are available on Christmas Day, each priced at RM75++ for adults and RM45++ for children.

Take-away turkey is available at RM269++ for four kg and RM299++ for five kg.

The turkey is stuffed with chestnuts and comes with cranberry and brown sauce, with mixed vegetables.
