No plans to rename state roads

JOHOR BARU: THE state government has no plans to rename existing roads and streets.

Johor Public Works, Rural and Regional Development committee chairman Datuk Hasni Muhammad said the state government will maintain the road names.

This in light of Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s move to rename several major roads in the nation’s capital recently.

“However, I am not dismissing the possibility that it may happen in the future to reflect Johor’s rich history,” he said, during an event at a village.

During the event, 38 road project contacts worth RM6.45 million were awarded to sub-contractors.

The project involves nine districts in the state.
