Hard work pays for bridal entrepreneur

KUALA LUMPUR: Seven years ago, Mohd Azeli Mohd Yusoff, 33, left his home in Batu Pahat for Kuala Lumpur with only RM70 in hand.

He stayed in surau or mosques until he secured a job in the logistics division of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Through hard work, a determination to succeed, and a little bit of luck, today, he is the owner of LR House of Bridal and Wedding Planner, a bridal company based in Bandar Putra here, with a business turnover of RM1 million last year.

Azeli said he wanted to share his story with others with the hopes of motivating them to succeed.

“The idea to set up a bridal business came about after discussing with my colleague Mohd Shahrul Nizwan Haroni from the KLIA customer service division, and my friend, Mohd Ridzuan Ithnin, from an automobile company.

“Ridzuan and I resigned from
our jobs to set up a bridal company.

“Ridzuan is creative and
skillful in floral arrangement and fashion design.

“Shahrul assists us by coming up with a business strategy.

“The three of us contribute our efforts and our venture has begun to bear fruit.”

Last year, Azeli said the business turnover had reached RM1 million, and he expects an even better results this year.

With a workforce of 12 at present, he said the company had won the championship for the best wedding boutique during a bridal fair in Johor Baru last year.
