Najib pledges roaring support for Harimau Malaya

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian football team, which will square up to Thailand in the second leg of the AFF Cup 2014, has received a roaring endorsement from none other than Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

In a brief video message to the players via his YouTube channel yesterday, the prime minister expressed his confidence that the Harimau Malaya squad will be able to overcome the odds and overturn the two goal deficit against Thailand to emerge victorious.

“I believe the Harimau Malaya have the ability to win the AFF Suzuki Cup.

“Play with full spirit. The people of Malaysia will be praying for your success to redeem the loss suffered in Bangkok recently.

“God willing, I hope you will bring forth a dazzling performance and emerge victorious,” he said.

The Harimau Malaya will take on the Thais at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium at 7.50pm tonight.

Malaysia lost 0-2 in the first leg in Bangkok earlier this week.
