5 stretches of roads in Kelantan re-opened to traffic

KOTA BAHARU: Five stretches of roads in Kuala Krai and Pasir Mas which were closed to traffic due to floods have been opened to motorists this morning.

According to the state government’s flood portal, the stretches reopened were Km2 of Jalan Bukit Sireh in Kuala Krai, as well as Km7.5 of Jalan Rantau Panjang-Panglima Bayu, Km5 of Jalan Tendong-Bunut Susu-Gelang Mas, Km5 of Jalan Tendong-Bunut Susu-Gelang Mas and Km25 of Jalan Pasir Mas-Rantau Panjang Highway in Cabang Empat Bangol Kulim, Pasir Mas.

Meanwhile, six stretches remain closed to all vehicles and seven other stretches are closed only to light vehicles.

Km8-Km8.5 of Jalan Machang-Pangkal Meleret in Machang is closed to all vehicles.

In Pasir Mas, Km12 of Jalan Rantau Panjang-Panglima Bayu, Km3 of Jalan Pengkalan Rakit, Km11 of Jalan Rantau Panjang (Jalan Lama) Kampung Siram, Km12 of Jalan Lubok Jong-Tanah Merah (Jegor) and Km10 of Jalan Pohon Tanjung-Meranti are also closed to all vehicles.

Km3 of Jalan Pohon Tanjung-Pasir Pekan in Tumpat, Km1.5 of Jalan Tanah Merah-Kusial-Kampung Ipoh in Tanah Merah and Km4 of Jalan Kota Baharu-Pantai Cahaya Bulan in Kota Baharu are closed off to light vehicles.

In Pasir Mas, three stretches are closed off to light vehicles namely KM23 of Jalan Banggol Kulim Lokasi 2, Km4 of Jalan Pasir Mas-Meranti and Km12 of Jalan Bukit Tuku-Batu Hampar.

Km3.5 of Jalan Pasir Puteh-Semarak in Pasir Puteh is also closed to light vehicles.

Meanwhile, as at 9am this morning, Sungai Golok recorded water levels of 10.28 metres, the only river which exceeds the danger level (9 metres). – BERNAMA
