KUANTAN: Continuous downpour has forced more people out of their homes with the flood victims increasing to 318 people compared to 108 people at 10am.
A police spokesman said several stretches, Km31 of Jalan Kuantan-Sungai Lembing, Km34 of Jalan Kuantan-Maran near the Bukit Gambang Resort, Jalan Pekan Sungai Lembing, Jalan Kampung Nadak, Jalan Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Bangkong and Jalan Kampung Air Hitam in Jaya Gading were closed to all vehicles.
Meanwhile, a State Drainage and Irrigation Department spokesman said the water level at Sungai Kuantan in Bukit Kenau, Sungai Cherating and Sungai Belat in Sri Damai has reached the warning level and is expected to hit the danger level, within the next few hours.
