GCH Retail spreads festive cheer

THE underprivileged are not forgotten in this festive period of caring and sharing.

GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd recently threw a Christmas dinner at a hotel, here, for about 100 senior citizens, neglected children and orphans from Grace Home and Rumah KIDS.

This initiative is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme in giving back to the community.

Bagfuls of toys and festive goodies were distributed to the guests at the event.

The company also donated RM5,000 to each home to help cover its operating costs.

GCH Retail chief executive officer Tim Ashdown said: “Christmas is a joyous season, a time for sharing and meeting up with family and friends. It is in this spirit of spreading cheer that the company has organised this dinner for members of our community — the community where our stores are located.”

He said the company looked forward to supporting a noble cause such as Grace Community Services which has helped the underprivileged, especially destitute women and children.

The special guests, aged from 4 to 80, also performed at the dinner.
