Dining with an Aussie experience

KUALA LUMPUR: Foodies should head to the second outlet of Outback Steakhouse at the lower ground floor of Nu Sentral to enjoy tasty steaks and ribs.

Open daily from 11am to 10pm, the 150-seater restaurant offers diners a delightful dining experience with an Australian outback theme.

Southeast Asia Outback Steakhouse head of marketing Dilip Krishnan said diners will get to enjoy an array of fresh delectables, seasoned with its 17 secret spice blend.

“The recipes are constantly checked by our head office in the US. Our meats and seafood are supplied from ranches, poultry and fish farms of high quality.

“Our dips and sauces are made in the kitchen itself,” he said.

For appetisers, diners can choose the appetiser duo, Alice Springs chicken quesadilla, kookaburra wings, typhoon bloom, crispy fried mushrooms, Aussie cheese fries, spinach artichoke dip, popcorn shrimp or grilled shrimp on the Barbie.

“Typhoon bloom is made of fresh onion strings dusted with Outback’s own secret seasonings, stacked high and cooked until it becomes golden brown,” he said.

For the main dishes, among the must-tries include Outback Special, where its signature sirloin is seasoned with bold spices and seared, or the BBQ beef ribs where the tender and succulent beef ribs are smoked and grilled to perfection and served with Aussie fries.

“Chicken lovers can try our Alice Springs chicken and BBQ chicken-half, while seafood lovers can indulge in our grilled salmon, seafood pasta, fish and chips or seafood mixed grill.

Outback Steakhouse also serves other dishes such as salads, burgers, seafood, roasted chicken and desserts.

“For salads, we have the Aussie chicken cobb salad where diners can choose either the grilled or crispy chicken served on a bed of fresh greens, with Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, crispy chopped beef bacon, egg and tomato. We also have Queensland Cobb salad and chicken, shrimp or sirloin Caesar salad.

“Children can enjoy the kids’ fettuccine, chicken fingers, burger or fish and chips,” he said, adding that the restaurant also offers lunch menu starting from RM17.90.

In conjunction with the store’s opening, diners will get to enjoy a free steak with every RM100 spent.
