HULU TERENGGANU: A 42-year-old woman is feared drowned in Sungai Terengganu near Kampung Baru Seri Nering, here, around 4.30am today.
State Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Rozizah Abnihajar said the victim Fadilah @ Zariah Abdullah, a housewife, had gone to the river but failed to return home.
Rozizah said the victim's husband found her clothes near the river bank and rushed to seek help from villagers.
She said the Kuala Berang station received a call from the public at 10.15am and six firemen were deployed to the scene.
However, as of 12.45pm today, the victim has yet to be found. The Search and Rescue members were increased to 13 firemen, four policemen and 42 members of Rela and Civil Defence Department.
