TEMERLOH: Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai today said Malaysia is committed to providing all available assistance and support for the ongoing search and recovery efforts led by Indonesia for Indonesia AirAsia flight QZ8501.
He offered his deepest condolences and expressed sadness at the confirmation from the Badan SAR Nasional Indonesia (BASARNAS) that the wreckage of the plane and about 40 bodies have been found.
"This is indeed a trying time for those affected and Malaysia is deeply saddened by this tragedy.
"We are in close contact with our Indonesian counterpart and will continue to offer any assistance required during this tragic time," he said.
He added that Malaysia stands in solidarity with the families and loved ones of those on board.
