Fail runaway attempt, 3 nabbed

KUANTAN: Three house break-in and drug trafficking suspects were arrested after their car skidded and crashed into a divider at Jalan Beserah here today.

The incident occurred when four suspects in a Proton Satria tried to evade a police patrol car which asked them to pull over at a nearby housing area.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Aziz Salleh said police tried to stop the suspects after they received public tip off on their suspicious behaviour.

In their effort to flee, he said the suspects' car had crashed into three other cars before their vehicle veered onto the divider and halted.

The four suspects tried to escape but police managed to arrest two of them, a 29-year-old man and his girlfriend, 25, on the spot.

The man's younger brother, 18, was later nabbed at Jalan Air Putih but his girlfriend could not be located.

Aziz also advised the public not to spread inaccurate information about the incident, including those who claimed that the suspects were armed with guns.
