Floods: Poor garbage management in affected areas

SEREMBAN: The Health Ministry expressed concerns over ill garbage management in flood affected areas to control cockroach, flies and rats from breeding.

Its director general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said a survey by the Institute of Medical Research at the Gua Musang flood evacuation centres (three) and Kuala Krai (two) found that garbage was badly managed and it is causing insects breeding.

"There is a worry that this will affect the health of the people there."

"We urge the responsible authorities to take immediate actions to solve this matter," he said in a statement.
