KUALA LUMPUR: The NST Online was chosen as the 2014 Most Supportive Online Media by CyberSecurity Malaysia, the cyber security specialist agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation today.
Apart from that, Media Prima Group was voted as the Most Supportive Media Company while Harian Metro walked away with the Most Supportive Print Media - Newspaper award.
NST Online editor Badrolhisham Bidin received the award from MOSTI deputy minister Datuk Dr Abu Bakar Mohamad Diah.
Chairman of the CyberSecurity Board of Directors, General Tan Sri Mohd Azumi Mohamed said the awards were given as an appreciation to the media for their continuous support with accuracy as the fundamental norm of ethical journalism.
He said journalists must continue to raise awareness on national cyber security issues through well-researched articles and informative programmes.
“Inaccurate reporting can undermine important news stories and mislead the public,” he said.
