Cut down needless overseas trips, Tengku Adnan urges FT Ministry

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territories Ministry has frozen all overseas travelling for its staff except for very necessary cases effective last Tuesday as part of its cost saving efforts.

Its minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the directive also included all agencies under his ministry in view of the country’s current economic situation.

He told this reporters after chairing the town hall meeting for Setiawangsa Parliamentary area, organised by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) here today.

On the town hall session, he said among issues brought up at the two-hour dialogue were pertaining to public utilities. infrastructure, maintenance in residential areas, particularly for public housing projects (PPR) and the role of the residents’ representative council (MPP).

He said that every problems, complaints. suggestions and issues received at the meeting would be settled as soon as possible to ensure the people’s comfort.

Apart from DBKL, today’s town hall meeting also involved the police, Immigration Department, Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) and Alam Flora Sdn Bhd.--BERNAMA
