KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened easier against the US dollar in early trading today on lack of demand, a currency trader said. Against the greenback, the local currency opened softer at 3.6050/6080 compared with 3.6040/6070 at close on Wednesday.
The local note traded mixed against other major currencies.
The ringgit eased against the Singapore dollar to 2.6619/6651 from Wednesday’s 2.6592/6624 and depreciated against the British pound to 5.5986/6054 from 5.5923/5984. It improved against the yen to 3.0297/0330 from Wednesday’s 3.0334/0365 and was also better against the Euro at 4.0989/1027 from 4.1006/1048.--BERNAMA
