Body of 15-year-old boy feared drowned found

DUNGUN: The body of a 15-year-old student who drowned in a pond near at Batu 7, Dungun, was found by the search and rescue team, an hour after the incident was reported to the Dungun Fire and Rescue station at 12.41pm, today.

State Fire and Rescue Department public relation officer Rozizah Abnihajar said the victim Mohd Alif Aiman Abdul Wahab, from Lorong Kekabu Gong Pasir, here, went to swim with his three other friends at the pond.

"Mohd Aiman suddenly went missing and his friends rushed to alert the nearby villagers about the incident," she said adding that six firemen were deployed to the scene and the victim's body was found at the bottom of the pond later.

Rozizah said Mohd Alif's body was sent to the Dungun Hospital for post mortem.

Meanwhile in Hulu Terengganu, a 48-year-old man was feared drowned after his boat capsized in Sungai Jenagor, Kuala Berang this morning.

Rozizah said the Kuala Berang station received a call about 10.36am and a team of four firemen were dispatched to the scene.

She said up to 6.40pm, the victim Wan Aziman Wan Ali, 48, of Kampung Simpang Tok Ku, Kuala Terengganu, was still not found.

However, the operation is on-going.
