Discard working in silo mindset, DPM told education ministry staff

PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin called on all sectors in the education ministry to discard the mindset of working in silo.

He said as a crucial ministry to chart the nation's future, the ministry's staff must come together.

"We must build a strong team as the responsibilities entrusted to us are big. We are tasked to churn out a quality human capital who have high morals," he said at the Education Ministry's monthly gathering this morning.

Present were Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh and education director-general Datuk Seri Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof.

Muhyiddin, who is also the education minister, said the education ministry existed in an ecosystem that needed the support of all from within and outside including the public, parents, institutions and the private sector.

"The two education blue print namely for schools and higher education are big agendas not only for us, but for the nation as well."

Muhyiddin added the prime minister was scheduled to launch the blue print for higher education on April 7.
