No more working in silos, Sabah DCM tells government servants

KOTA KINABALU: Government departments heads have been told to avoid working in silo for the betterment of the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam said the old ways of working are gone.

"Do cooperate with the government-linked companies such as Invest Sabah Bhd to bring about significant development to Sabah.

"As we worked collectively to overcome the pandemic, let us also work together to bring prosperity to the state in line with the Sabah Maju Jaya vision," he said at the Invest Sabah Bhd's breaking of fast ceremony at a hotel here yesterday.

Dr Joachim, who is state Local Government and Housing Minister, urged the people to continue to embodying the spirit of resilience and forge ahead with hope, determination and unity.

"Resilience is the ability to navigate through adversity with grace and determination. It is a quality deeply ingrained in the fabric of our community, and it is what defines us in times of challenge.

"In the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and its myriad of challenges, we have witnessed the remarkable resilience of the human spirit.

"From frontline workers to ordinary citizens, each one of us played a part in overcoming obstacles and forging ahead with resilience and strength."

Dr Joachim also expressed his gratitude to Invest Sabah Bhd chairman Tan Sri Anifah Aman for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to Sabah's development.

"Under your guidance, I am sure Invest Sabah Berhad will flourish, and our state will see unprecedented growth and progress.

"With your vast experience especially in helming the Foreign Ministry, I am sure your network will be beneficial to bringing investors to Sabah.

"I also trust that your team will be supportive towards achieving Invest Sabah Bhd's vision and mission."

Present were Sabah Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe and Invest Sabah chief executive officer Dr Firdausi Suffian.
