14 illegal immigrants held in Kuala Terengganu

KUALA TERENGGANU: A total of 14 illegal immigrants were detained at four separate locations an operation held at Kuala Terengganu yesterday.

State Immigration Department enforcement chief Ahmad Salihin Salleh said seven officers were involved in the raid which started at 10am and ended at 1pm.

Ahmad said eight Nepalese and six Cambodian men were arrested for under ‘Ops Sapu’ and ‘Ops Selera'.

"They are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) and Rules 39 of the Immigration Act 1959/63," he said.

He said all the detainees were sent to the Ajil Detention Centre in Hulu Terengganu.
