SUNGAI SIPUT: A 33-year-old man, high on the police wanted list, has been shot dead by police in a shoot out here early this morning.
In the 5am incident at Salak near here, the suspect was shot after he opened fire at police.
A source said prior to the shooting, there was a high speed chase between the suspect and police.
"Upon arrival at the scene, the suspect had crashed his car before alighting from his Proton Waja and a shootout ensured between the suspect and police," he said.
State deputy acting police chief Datuk Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim is expected to call for a news conference at 11am today.
