Timeline: Permatang Pauh nomination day

The nomination process for the Permatang Pauh by-election began at 9 am at the Dewan Perdana Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN), Bukit Mertajam.

10.05am: Four candidates will be contesting BN will be represented by Permatang Pauh Umno secretary Suhaimi Sabudin, 44, while PKR by its president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. Independent candidate are training consultant Salleh Isahak, 53 and Azman Shah Othman, 50, will contest under the Parti Rakyat Malaysia banner.

10am: Permatang Pauh nomination centre closed: Returning Officer Jusni Ismail.

9.45am: Medical practitioner Dr Abdullah Zawawi Samsudin has decided not to file his nomination papers.

9.15am: Businessman Azman Shafie, 50, is the second independent candidate to arrive at the Permatang Pauh nomination centre to file his papers.

9.05am: Permatang Pauh By-election returning officer Jusni Ismail announces that nomination centre is open until 10am.

9.04am: PKR candidate Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail arrives at the nomination centre accompanied by her daughters and Pakatan leaders.

8.55am: Barisan Nasional candidate Suhaimi Sabudin arrived at Permatang Pauh by-election nomination centre, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and BN leaders.

8.39am: Training consultant Salleh Isahak, 53, is the first independent candidate to arrive to file his nomination for the Permatang Pauh by-election.
