PUTRAJAYA: The Election Commission (EC) has received 64,775 applications for registration as voters for the first quarter of this year.
In a statement here today, EC said the number comprised 54,388 new voter registration and 10,387 applications to change the polling centre of voters by current voters with EC.
As such the new Additional Electoral Roll (DPT) for the first quarter 1/2015 will be displayed for 14 days starting tomorrow until May 11 in 935 exhibition venues nationwide.
These exhibition venues included state election offices, computerised post office, government offices’ complex, district or land office, district council or municipal, multi-purpose hall or rukun tetangga (neighbourhood watch) or community hall or penghulu or halls and other places.
EC urged all voters who registered during the period, Jan 1, 2015 until March 31, 2015 to check their voter registration information at the places stated.
During the DPT period, EC also displayed the names of voters who would be withdrawn from the electoral roll because they had died or had forfeited their citizenship, he said. -- Bernama
