Rompin by-election: Come out early to vote, says Hasan

ROMPIN: Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Hasan Arifin described the 13-day Rompin by-election campaign as a smooth process.

The Rompin Umno divisional deputy chief said no untoward incidents happened during the period.

"I am grateful to the party's election machinery as everything went on as planned.

"Now, I hope voters will come out early to cast their vote as the weather is good," he said today.

Earlier, Hasan and his wife Datin Rozidah Abdul Karim, 57, cast their votes at SK Leban Chondong here.

Accompanied by their three children, they arrived at the polling centre about 8.25am before completing the process about 9am.

Clad in a blue batik shirt and wearing a songkok, 62-year-old Hasan and his wife got into the queue with other voters for their turns to cast their ballots.

The couple's children Fahrizal, 34, Fara, 32, and Shahida, 25, were at the school but only Fahrizal cast his ballot at the centre.

Hasan then proceeded to visit the other polling centres after casting his vote.
