EPF I-akaun usage increases 100 per cent

KUALA LUMPUR: The usage of i-Akaun, an online facility to check Employees Provident Fund (EPF) savings, has increased to over 100 per cent in the first quarter ended March 31.

The EPF said the number of members logging into the service surged 102.65 per cent to 2.91 million from 1.43 million in the corresponding period last year.

“The significant increase in i-Akaun usage shows that more members are aware of the importance of monitoring their EPF savings and contributions from their employers.

“This is important as they can also ensure that their employers contribute on their behalf accurately and on time,” EPF chief executive officer Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan said in a statement today.

The i-Akaun can be accessed via the myEPF website and EPF’s mobile apps which are available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Visitors to the myEPF website have risen to 38.72 per cent from 3.07 million year-on-year (Y-o-Y).

On the operations performance, 77,865 applications for the Flexible Age 55 Withdrawal were approved, an increase of 37.37 per cent compared with 56,681 Y-o-Y.

The amount withdrawn under the Flexible Withdrawal facility amounted to RM2.68 billion from RM1.88 billion previously. – Bernama
