GEORGE TOWN: Some 234 traffic offenders, including nine women, have been detained by police here since the start of Ops Warta.
State police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said of the total, 231 were nabbed during police roadblocks while three at the various premises.
He said 24 of them had been charged in court.
Penang has a total of 48,113 hard core traffic offenders, dating from 2000 to 2014.
Ops Warta kicked off on May 18.
