KULAIJAYA: A driver of a Perodua Kancil was killed while his 32-year-old son was injured when the car they were in crashed into a lamp post in Senai, near here at 2.45pm today.
Kulaijaya police chief Superintendant Razak Md Said said the 56-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle before it skidded and crashed into a lamp post on a road divider at the dual carriageway near Kampung Jaya Sepakat, Senai.
"The driver was pinned in the wrecked car. He died on the spot due to severe head and chest injuries," he said
The driver' son suffered minor injuries and was sent to Kulai Hospital for treatment. Police have not released the identities of the father and son.
The case is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
