ISKANDAR PUTERI: A 21-year-old man was killed after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree at the Kota Iskandar Mosque, here, today.
In the 4.55am incident, the victim identified as Vincent Boo Yu Heng, is believed to have veered off the main road, before he rammed his Nissan Sentra into the tree.
The impact of the crash caused the victim to be pinned in the seat of the car which was reduced to a wreck.
District Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Saifulizam Salleh said despite rescue efforts, Boo was pronounced dead at the scene by the accompanying health ministry medical assistant.
The seven rescuers dispatched to the scene took about half an hour to extricate the victim's body, which was handed to the police to facilitate their investigations.
