Pas members must vote out anti-Hadi dissenters: Ulama vice-chief

KUALA LUMPUR: Pas' party polls must be used to wipe out those against the party president, said Pas Ulama vice-chief Datuk Mahfodz Mohamad.

Mahfodz, in his speech at the Ulama wing's muktamar today, said such a group in the party had become "thorns in the flesh" by ridiculing Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

Mahfodz said of late, several party leaders have joined the fray which was sparked by Pas' political allies to criticise Hadi.

"There have been a movement by our political allies to attack the president. And worse, some of those from Pas' leadership have joined the bandwagon.

"They have become 'thorns in the flesh. I urge that us (the ulama) to elect a new leadership that is supportive of the president."
