DAP has no right to declare that Pakatan Rakyat is dead, says Hadi Awang

KUALA TERENGGANU: DAP has no right to declare that Pakatan Rakyat is dead, said Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.

He said the DAP stand was cynical as it did not understand the true meaning of Pakatan Rakyat, resulting in making a hurried statement.

Abdul Hadi stressed that Pakatan Rakyat was still alive and existed as neither DAP nor its other ally PKR had officially issued a statement to Pas.

"All we know is of DAP's media statement. Neither DAP nor PKR have not issued a statement to Pas saying that we have parted ways," he said of the Pakatan Rakyat coalition formed by the three parties after the 12th General Election on April 1, 2000.

Abdul Hadi responded to DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng's media statement following their June 15 executive council meeting, declaring that DAP was severing ties with the former as DAP was unable to work with the PAS president who proposed for the Hudud law to be implemented in Terengganu.
