Terengganu Al-Quran Institute twins with Madinah University

KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu Al-Quran Institute will collaborate with Madinah University to offer twinning programmes for budding local students.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said selected students would be sent over to Saudi Arabia once the programme details were finalised.

"We will select the pioneer batch of 50 Form Four students this year to undergo preparatory courses with the Syahadah Ulul Albab class at the Sekolah Imtiaz Bukit Kluang in Besut.

"Those selected for this course will have mastered at least 20 juzuk Al-Quran," he said.

Ahmad Razif added that the selected students would pursue pure science in addition to the old testament of the quran.

Once they obtain the required SPM results, he added, they would be sent to the Terengganu Al-Quaran Institute to pursue the twinning programme with Madinah University.

He told newsmen this after presenting dana raya and dana bakti to youths at the Tengku Muhammad Ismail scouts camp in Kuala Nerus.

Kuala Nerus district officer Azmi Razik Ahmad Razif said students who successfully graduated from Madinah University would be offered jobs with the state government as clergy (ulama) and other religious specialist jobs accordingly.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is scheduled to launch the Syahadah Ulul Albab programme in conjunction with the opening of the Sekolah Imtiaz Bukit Kluang on July 6 during his official visit here.
