The search for 12-year-old Jenifer continues

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are searching for a 12-year-old girl who went missing after she failed to return home from school on June 19.

Wangsa Maju police chief Superintendent Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said yesterday on the day of the incident, the victim, identified as Jenifer Anthonysamy, had gone to school as usual.

“Her mother had sent her to the school in Kg Pandan Dalam here about 6.30am and she was supposed to attend an additional class later in the afternoon.

“However, her mother realised something was amiss when Jenifer did not return by 4pm that day,” he said.

The 45-year-old woman immediately went to her daughter’s school but the child was not there. She questioned her daughter’s friends and they told her that Jenifer had left the school compound around 12.30 noon.

She was wearing her school uniform when she went missing.

“Jenifer was not seen at the additional class in the afternoon,” he said.

Acting on the report lodged, police had recorded statements from the mother and other witnesses.

A suspect had also surrendered himself to Kelana Jaya police station but investigation revealed he was not involved in the case.

Roy urged those with information on the missing girl to contact Wangsa Maju police station at 03-92899222 to assist investigation.
