Task force to probe 1MDB

KUALA LUMPUR: A special task force had been set up to initiate investigation into 1 Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) issues including claim saying that it had provided funds to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail said the task force, comprising of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), police and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) had obtained documents in regards to 1MDB.

"The task force had several documents and handed it over to me to be reviewed. Among the documents are those related to the allegation that the funds were siphoned to Prime Minister's personal account.

"I would review and analyse all the documents and have provide advice and guidance to the task force on the next course of action," he said in a statement yesterday.

The task force, he said, had on Friday raided the three companies; SRC International Sdn Bhd, Gandingan Mentari Sdn Bhd, and Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd to obtain relevant documents from the premises.
