Malaysian govt donates to build mosque in Seville

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian government has donated USD1 million to build a mosque and Islamic cultural centre in Seville, Spain.

The donation was handed over by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, to Fundación Mezquita de Sevilla (Seville Mosque Foundation) vice-president Ibrahim Hernandez, after a breaking of fast event at Sri Satria here, today.

Earlier, Muhyiddin and his wife, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, presented donations to 85 orphans and the needy from Kuala Selangor.

Also present were Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and Umno Wanita chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.
