2 nabbed for robbery probe in Desa Melawati

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested two men to facilitate investigations into two burglaries at Saville condominium in Desa Melawati on July 6 and today.

Wangsa Maju police chief Supt Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said the two suspects, aged 38 and 43, were arrested at about 3.30pm in the parking area of the condominium.

“Both of them, who were acting suspiciously, were detained when approaching a Perodua Myvi parked there.

“Upon inspection, the police found various types of gadgets, including Blackberry 9300 and Blackberry 9900 mobile phones, MP3 players, jewellery and branded wrist watches,” he told Bernama here today.

He said initial investigation revealed that one of the suspects was wanted by the police and had various previous criminal records.

Mohamad Roy said, on July 6, a resident lost about RM3,500 after thieves broke into his condominium unit.

In the second incident that happened today, another resident of the condominium lost of some of her belongings, including a wrist watch, handbags and jewellery after her home was broken into.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for burglary. --BERNAMA
