Woman loses RM40k after thieves break into telekung stall

KUALA TERENGGANU: A 56-year-old trader lost about RM40,000 when her stall was broken into by thieves who carted away telekung that was for sale and cash on Saturday.

District Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Hamzah said the victim was shocked when she found the main door of her premises was forced opened during the 9am incident.

Wan Abdul Aziz said further check revealed a total of RM1,500 cash placed in a drawer was also found missing from the stall which situated at Taman Permint Jaya, Chendering, here.

"Two hundreds high quality telekung for sale that were kept in the store also being carted away during the incident," he said adding that the victim had lodged a report about the incident on the same day.

He said the case was being investigated for breaking into the premises.
