KLANG: A 21-year old youth was charged at the Klang magistrate court today with the murder of a mobile shop operator at Jalan Emas in Taman Melawis, on July 16.
G. Devendran, who was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code calmly stated that he understood when the charge was read.
No plea was recorded.
Devendran, allegedly murdered P. Kumaran, 25, at his shop at Jalan Emas in Taman Melawis at about 10.40pm on the eve of Hari Raya.
Devendran, who works as a cashier at a shopping mall faces the death penalty if convicted.
Magistrate Ahmad Feisal Mohd Azmi fixed Aug 27 for mention.
Prosecution was carried out by Rizal Azani Zainal Adzam.
