Hadi warns Pas leaders to stay away from GHB

KUALA NERUS: Pas President Datuk Hadi Awang warned party members, especially its leaders, to stay away from activities organised by the break-away Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB).

In a stern caution, Hadi said severe action could be instituted against anyone, more so Pas' members of parliament and state assemblymen, who go against the party's directive to keep away from GBH activities.

"I have personally told our leaders not to get involved with programmes associated with GHB which has nothing to do with Pas. Anyone of our members getting involved will only bring about negativity to the party," he told newsmen after officiating the Ihtifal Maahad Tahfiz Wal Tarbiyyah Darul Iman event.

Hadi added that PAS was monitoring the movements and actions of its leaders in each state and errant members would be hauled up before the party's disciplinary committee.

"The severity of the punishment will depend on their actions and behaviour. We will first issue a show-cause letter to errant members and if found guilty they can be suspended or even sacked from the party," he said.
