KUANTAN: A one-year old toddler died after he was run over by his father's van while it was being reversed at their home in Taman Balok Perdana here today.
The victim was standing behind the multi-purpose-vehicle when his father was reversing it to go out to work at 8am.
The father was unaware of the presence of his son when backing up the vehicle.
A police spokesman said the father stepped out of the vehicle when he felt that the vehicle had knocked over an object and was shocked to see his son on the ground.
He said the father took the victim to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here where the boy was pronounced dead at the intensive care unit about an hour later.
